I love popcorn, just not on my ceiling!

Last weekend we removed the sheetrock
Of from the final wall to be knocked down. We have been working on popcorn removal as time permits this week. All in I would say it has taken about 4 hours to scrape.

Of course it was sheet rocked on both sides!

How to remove a popcorn ceiling:

1. Apply water with a squirt bottle or sprayer.

2. Wait a minute or two.

3. Scrape with a wide putty knife.

It comes off like butter. We used small tarps to catch the bulk of the popcorn ceiling on the floor. The mess was not too bad to clean up, and I can't wait to hit the other ceilings in the house this winter.

Next up: installing a header so we can completely remove the dividing studs.
